In the world of soccer, every decision can make or break a player’s fate. Isagi, a 2nd-year forward, faced such a critical moment in a game that would determine his team’s destiny in reaching the nationals. Opting to pass the ball instead of taking the shot led to their unfortunate defeat, leaving Isagi questioning his skills and choices on the field.

However, fate had other plans for Isagi as he received a letter from the Japan Football Union, designating him as a certified athlete. This unexpected turn of events led him to encounter Kira, a player from a previous game, on his way to a mysterious meeting that would change his soccer journey forever.

Enter Ego, the mastermind behind the Blue Lock project, a revolutionary initiative aimed at developing the best striker in Japan. Isagi, along with 299 other forward players, embarks on a grueling competition where only the strongest will survive and claim the coveted title.

As the players are rigorously ranked based on their skills, the top 5 will earn the opportunity to represent Japan in the prestigious Japan U-20 World Cup. However, failure in the cutthroat world of Blue Lock means forfeiting the chance to fulfill their dreams of soccer glory.

The first test sets the stage for the intense challenges ahead, with a game of tag where players must evade being hit by the soccer ball. In a pivotal moment, Isagi’s instincts kick in as he receives a pass from Bachira and makes a split-second decision that alters the course of the competition. By aiming the ball at Kira, Isagi inadvertently eliminates a formidable rival, leading to unforeseen consequences and stirring tensions among the players.

As Team Z is formed, comprising the lowest-ranked players in Blue Lock, Isagi and his teammates face an uphill battle to prove their worth and rise through the ranks.

Second Test

In the intense second test of the Blue Lock project, five teams are pitted against each other, each vying for a chance to advance and prove their worth as potential representatives of Japan in soccer. The stakes are high, with only the top-scoring players from the losing teams granted the opportunity to continue, while the rest face disqualification from ever representing their country on the field.

Game Z vs X: Lost 1 - 5

Team Z, comprised of the underdogs in the competition, faces their first challenge against Team X. Despite the individual talents of the players, the lack of teamwork and coordination hinders their performance. However, a moment of synergy between Isagi, Bachira, and Kunigami allows Team Z to secure a crucial point, showcasing their potential despite the odds stacked against them.

Game Z vs Y: Win 2 - 1

With valuable lessons learned, Team Z enters their match against Team Y with a newfound strategy – leveraging each player’s strengths and rotating positions to maximize their chances of scoring. Through effective collaboration and strategic gameplay, Team Z emerges victorious with a score of 2-1, demonstrating their resilience and determination to succeed in the face of adversity.

Game Z vs W: Tie 4 - 4

As Team Z faces off against Team W, Kuon’s initial success is overshadowed by suspicions of foul play as he begins to falter in the second half. Isagi’s keen observation leads to the shocking revelation that Kuon had made a deal with the opposing team, jeopardizing their chances of success. However, Chigiri’s exceptional speed and selfless contribution ultimately help Team Z secure a crucial tie, showcasing the power of teamwork and unity in the face of betrayal.

Game Z vs V: Win 5 - 4

In the final showdown against Team V, Kuon’s misguided actions threaten Team Z’s chances of advancement. As tensions rise and alliances are tested, the true spirit of soccer is put to the test. Through evolving skills and unwavering determination, Team Z rallies together to overcome the odds and emerge victorious with a hard-fought 5-4 win, solidifying their place among the top contenders in the competition.

As the top scorers from the disqualified teams are revealed, Isagi’s journey of self-discovery takes a pivotal turn as he uncovers his special ability – a direct shot and heightened spatial awareness. With each challenge and triumph, Team Z’s bond grows stronger, paving the way for greater challenges and victories ahead in the competitive world of Blue Lock.

Stage 2: 2nd Selection

To advance to the next phase, individuals must showcase their prowess by individually scoring 100 goals in 90 minutes against a hologram robot goalie that adapts to their playing style, eliminating those who have relied solely on their teammates’ support. Isagi, honing his skills and mastering the art of spatial awareness and direct shots, proves his mettle and earns his place among the top contenders.

As the participants are tasked with forming teams of three before proceeding, Isagi and Bachira join forces, initially considering Kunigami or Chigiri as potential teammates. However, a surprising offer from Nagi, driven by Isagi’s infectious passion for soccer, leads to an unexpected alliance that will test their teamwork and camaraderie in the upcoming challenges.

In the subsequent 3x3 game, teams face off against each other with the Blue Lock man as the goalie, vying to be the first to score five goals and secure their advancement. The stakes are high as the winners have the opportunity to select a player from the losing team, shaping the composition of their teams and determining their fate in the competition.

As the games unfold and alliances shift, Isagi, Nagi, and their teammates navigate through intense matches, strategic gameplay, and personal revelations that test their resilience and determination to succeed in the cutthroat world of Blue Lock. With each victory and defeat, the players hone their skills, forge new bonds, and confront their inner demons, culminating in a final showdown that will determine their future in the world of soccer.

As the Blue Lock project faces scrutiny and challenges from external forces, the participants must rise to the occasion and prove their worth on the field. With the promise of a high-stakes game against the U-20 team looming on the horizon, Isagi and his teammates must band together, push their limits, and showcase their talent in a bid to secure their place among the elite in the world of soccer.

Stage 3: 3rd selection

As the Blue Lock project progresses to its next stage, only 35 athletes divided into seven teams have advanced to the selection process, intensifying the competition and raising the stakes for the aspiring soccer players.

Isagi’s team emerges as the first to pass the second selection. The second team to pass the selection includes #7 Nagi, #18 Barou, #44 Chigiri, #53 Zantetsu, and #21 Jin, each bringing their individual skills and expertise to the table. As Isagi and Bachira watch the team arrive they notice that someone missing. The last team to arrive consist of #108 Igarashi, #20 Sokura, #4 Kurona, #111 Shidou, and #10 Reo. Turns out that after another lose the team choose Reo over Kunigami. Which means he was then disqualified.

The stage is set for a showdown that will test the limits of the participants and determine their fate in the relentless pursuit of becoming the ultimate striker in Japan. As rivalries intensify, and unexpected alliances form, the athletes must push their limits, and showcase their talent to secure their place among the top contenders in the world of soccer.

Will we see Isagi’s skills advance? Will Bachira still be a good soccer player without his monster? Season 2 will be releasing this fall in October and I can’t wait for more intense matches. Which team your rooting for and who do you want to see advance in season 2.

Until next time, byeeeeee
